Asher had his first zoo trip when he was 9 months old; which turns out to be a trip that triggers his liking for birds, also the babbling of his third word of his entire 9 months of life other than calling “mama” and “papa”. He had his first animal show at Singapore Zoological Zoo which had his curiosity and attention throughout. Asher simply can’t lay his eyes off and for goodness sake, he did not sleep at all throughout the trip! Hence, I told myself that I must bring Asher back once again to the Zoo when he’s slightly older where he can explore more!
So this time round, we make it a family trip where my husband gets to join too! It was a timely experience for us with Singapore celebrating 50 years with instagrammable Art Zoo sculptures; adding more joy and colours to your Zoo Trails! Right at the entrance, you’ll be greeted with the first instagrammable spot on your left side as you enter! My husband was so eager to bring Asher into the zoo that we forgot to snap a photo here.

Once you head in, you’ll be greeted by this giant inflatable giraffe! I’m sure that you’ll get more excited to take photos with these cute inflatables before you even see the other wildlife animals. Asher was amazed and couldn’t take his eyes off these sculptures.

ART-ZOO Happy Zoobilee will run from 27 May to 27 August 2023 with eight bespoke animal sculptures. I managed to capture the Rothschild’s Giraffe, Astove the Aldabra Giant Tortoise, Komali the Asian Elephant! Other inflatables are Minah and Bubu the Pygmy Hippos, Bunny the Linne’s Two-toed Sloth, Izara the Grevy’s Zebra, Hoepel the White Rhino and the famous Ah Meng Sumatran Orangutan! These instagrammable spots are not to be missed to add to your photos collection of zoo trips!

At the end of the trail, you get to see the inflatable art playground as well! Too bad Asher’s not really ready to play this giant bouncy playground yet. Else we would have headed right to it! So be sure to head for this when you’re at the zoo!

The first time when I brought Asher to the Zoo, we had a bad weather encounter so Asher couldn’t enjoy his zoo experiences other than the Animals Show. We were blessed with great weather this time round and we managed to cover 2 rounds of the zoo! We get to see some animals up close as well! Since baby Asher was more interested in Birds, we stayed quite a while there to let him explore! Here are some of the beautiful creatures of the sky we saw!
If you are thinking of where to head for the weekends for your family trip, hesitate no more to explore the zoo! There will be a range of activities and workshops that you can explore with your children. If you’re an active family, consider the Mandai Wildlife Run which will take place on 23 and 24 September 2023.

Zoo trips have always been a fun way to spend quality family time and it is honestly one of the best ways to bring a strong bond with your children; and at the same time, expose your children to the connections with wildlife. I will surely be back for more again when Asher is slightly older to let him experience the Zoo from a different perspective. I hope you enjoy your trip here as much as we do!
