Prepare for a magical family adventure as we step into the captivating world of Disney animation at the highly anticipated exhibition, Immersive Disney Animation. Making its debut in South East Asia at Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands, from November 18, 2023, this visual feast showcases 100 years of timeless classics adorned with unique Disney artifacts and rarely-seen exhibits from the Walt Disney Animation Research Library. Join us on a journey through the rich history of Walt Disney and the beloved Mickey Mouse, witnessing the magical transformation of favorite Disney scenes, characters, and songs.
Upon entering the exhibition, we were welcomed by a giant Mickey Mouse, creating the perfect photo spot for everyone! Our journey continued into a realm of interactive activations, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the technology, work, and creativity involved in bringing Disney animated films to life. A beautiful animator’s desk showcased time-lapses of character creation, and we discovered global film settings.
Presented by Base Entertainment Asia, Asia Pacific’s leading live entertainment company, in partnership with Walt Disney Animation Studios, the exhibition pays tribute to the extensive legacy of Disney animation. We loved exploring the art, music, and animation techniques behind timeless classics.
The Drawing Table
Claire and I had a blast trying our hand at drawing with guidance at the drawing tables, learning the art and craft of animation. Whether you are a seasoned artist or a budding enthusiast, this exhibition provides a space to learn, create, and celebrate the magic of Disney animation! Perfect for kids!
360-degree Immersive Disney Music
In a nearly 90-minute experience, Immersive Disney Animation took us on a journey through 100 years of Disney animation, featuring scenes, characters, and songs from both past and present Disney animated films. Step into the incredible worlds of beloved Disney characters and become one with them in this unparalleled immersive experience.
Our journey culminated in the Gallery, a transformed space of the Sands Theatre, offering a breathtaking 360-degree environment. Standing on a responsive floor projection synchronized with interactive wristbands, scenes from “The Little Mermaid” unfolded underwater, surrounded by shimmering bubbles mimicking snow in “Frozen II” and transforming into smoke upon touch. Every step became a magical adventure in this immersive celebration of Disney storytelling!
