In this special column called the “TLC x Fempreneurs Series”, we will be featuring inspiring Female Entrepreneurs (Fempreneurs) in short. You will be able to have a sneak peek at their mindsets and their daily habits.

Believe in the power of community. On some days when you feel big goals are impossible, or when you feel like giving up, you need to lean on your like-minded community. You can even “borrow” motivation, and in turn “return” with your own inspiring stories to pay it forward.

Tell us a little about yourself. What is your business/ brand about?

My name is Cassandra Nadira Lee, and I am the founder of COMB (Connecting Mind and Body). COMB is a learning and development consultancy focused on improving team dynamics and personal development through a unique blend of psychological safety, partnership culture, and self-accountability. We tailor our solutions to each organization’s specific needs, aiming for sustainable change and long-term improvement.

What got you started on your business?

It was my business mentor and business partner, Dr Rozan Anwar, who encouraged me to start my own business. My struggles with clinical depression and the temporary blindness I experienced after childbirth further influenced my mission to help others connect their mind and body for improved well-being and performance.

Before you started your business, what did you do on a full-time basis?

I was working as a sales manager in a training cum personal development company.

What were some difficulties you faced in your life and how did you overcome them?

I faced significant challenges, including clinical depression and temporary blindness. These experiences taught me the importance of resilience, self-awareness, and the mind-body connection. At COMB, I emphasize these elements in our programs, helping clients to become more self-aware, manage their unconscious biases, and enhance team dynamics and performance.

Who inspires you?

I am inspired and constantly reminded of our Prophet Muhammad PBUH and his sacrifice for us as Muslims.

What excites you most about your industry?

The most rewarding aspect is witnessing the transformation of individuals and the teams I work with, seeing the impact of positive changes in their personal and corporate results. It fills me with contentment and joy, fueling my passion to continue my work.

What is your vision / personal motto?

My personal motto is to live each day fully and in gratitude, thinking it could be my last. My vision is to see this world living in full acceptance with one another and full equality in harmony.

What have you learned recently that you hope the other ladies can take back?

I have learned the importance of emotional, cultural, and social intelligence. It is crucial for effective communication and relationship-building, especially in expanding business beyond local markets.

What do you do in your free time as self care? How do you unwind?

To unwind, I spend quality time with my family. My husband and children are my support system, and their presence helps me relax and recharge. I also practise Tension Release Exercises (TRE) to help release stress and tension. I love walking in the countryside, too, but sometimes, I find it hard to do so in Singapore due to the humidity.

How do you think you can help ladies to feel confident and empowered?

By helping them connect their mind and body, fostering self-awareness, and teaching them to manage their unconscious biases. Another important element is building trust with oneself. This will enhance confidence and empowerment.

What is one thing you are grateful for?

I am grateful for my family’s support, especially during the challenging times when dealing with blindness and raising my young children. I am also grateful for being chosen to be a Muslim and be born in Singapore.
