On 9 March, Jenny and I had the honour of organising a heartfelt tribute to International Women’s Day in collaboration with Bishan Home for the Intellectually Disabled. Under the umbrella of our parent company, Clover Enterprise Pte Ltd, responsible for overseeing The Ladies Cue and The Babies Cue, we seized the chance to bring happiness and goodwill to Bishan Home for the Intellectually Disabled as part of our corporate social responsibilities.

This marks the second time Jenny and I have done this together, and it was even more special than the first. With the spirit of International Women’s Day in our hearts, we knew we wanted to do something meaningful to commemorate the occasion. And what better way to celebrate than by bringing smiles to the faces of the wonderful residents at Bishan Home?
Given the limited capacity, we kept the gathering intentionally intimate, hoping to set an example for others to engage with Bishan Home in their own small groups, contributing to its noble cause. Last year, we engaged in arts and crafts activities, and this time, we continued our tradition, planning special performances for the residents to enjoy.

Beauty of a Community
We have been incredibly fortunate to receive abundant support throughout the planning process. From arranging lunch orders to fulfilling Bishan Home’s wishlist, and putting together the schedule of performances, we aimed to make the day truly joyful for all.
Angie Wong, the Founder of Jovet SG, extended her support by inviting Yang Guang Kele, who had expressed interest in our CSR initiatives since our first session. The staff at Bishan Home meticulously planned and printed schedules for each performance and game.
Additionally, media friends, who could not join us physically, also contributed by chipping in money to fulfill the wishlist and donated generously. With such collective support and encouragement, it was truly gratifying to have an entire team to rely on!

Christopher Yong graciously accepted the role of emcee for the event, bringing his trademark charm and wit to the program. We couldn’t help but laugh at his impromptu jokes, and it was heartwarming to see how he engaged with all the residents.
Following his introduction, Aziel Khoo and Ding Wan Tian mesmerised everyone with their guzheng performance. Mediacorp Celebrity Yang Guang Kele took the stage, singing songs that got the residents up and dancing. Christopher then wrapped up the day with a lively game of “Pass the Dragon,” where whoever held the dragon had to showcase their dance and singing skills on stage. It was a joyous and entertaining moment for everyone involved. Soon after, it was time for lunch, which we had catered from Saute San.
