Meet Nicholette Pang (Barebodies)
Tell us a little about yourself. What is your business/brand about?
Hi, I am Nicholette! I am the founder, mind, and more behind Barebodies. I am a creative, visionary, and innovative individual. I get most inspired when I am problem-solving and I enjoy exploring various ways to approach it, and coming up with solutions to create better experiences for people. My brand is a solutions-oriented brand that is dedicated to exploring and innovating for everybody.
What got you started on your business?
Nipple stickers have been my wardrobe staple forever. Having used the product over and over for years and felt that it was lacking in many ways (in terms of adhesiveness and durability), I decided to look into it instead of hoping for something better.
Before you started on your business, what did you do on a full-time basis?
I was teaching art to children.
What were some difficulties you faced in your life and how did you overcome them?
In the past, there were people who belittled me or even called me names like “Bimbo”, which caused me to second-guess myself, and my abilities. Today, I’ve learned not to be affected by these reactions and to make a conscious effort to reprogram myself and love myself a lot more, so I won’t be affected by the negativity. In fact, these days I overcome difficulties and problems by putting them off till later. After a nap, I will be able to think with a calmer and clearer mind. Most problems are not as big as they seem.
Who inspires you?
Honestly, I think it would be myself! My curiosity inspires me. When I get intrigued by a new idea or new perspective, I’ll dig into it more to find out how I can better the world with my products or new possible products.
What excites you most about your industry?
I think it is exciting that there is more inclusivity now, with more attention to how we can help things like nipple pasties and tapes cater to women of all shades, shapes, and sizes. This will help women everywhere feel confident in themselves, and I’m all up for it!
What is your vision / personal motto?
There is one by Dalai Lama:
Be kind whenever possible. It’s always possible.
(While being kind to others, do not forget to be kind to yourself.)
Do you have any word of advice for other ladies who are starting their business/ starting to pursue their dream?
Just go for it! If you never try, you’ll never know!
How do you think you can help ladies to feel confident and empowered?
My products help women feel secure and comfortable in anything that they wear. From their favorite bare-back dress or the V-cut top, I believe every lady has the right to own it and to feel confident in their get-up.
What is one thing you are grateful for?
I’ll always be grateful for the support I have received from everyone! All of the words and kindness through my messages, emails, or word-of-mouth have been very encouraging.
What do you do in your free time as self-care? How do you unwind?
I enjoy cooking, hanging out with the furkids in bed, watching tv shows, and eating all my favorite foods.
