Meet Jacelyn Phang (Yuan Zhong Siu Feng Shui)

Tell us a little about yourself.

I am the second generation managing Yuan Zhong Siu Feng Shui consultancy brand. Established in 1989, we provide Feng Shui, Zi Wei Dou Shu Astrology, Tarot Reading, Wedding Date Selection, Baby Naming Services, and more.

What got you started on your business? 

Feng Shui is an environmental science study that originated from over 3000 years ago. As there are insufficient trustworthy English materials on this subject, there are many misconceptions of it.

Realizing this, I started helping my parents translate the essence of this subject matter so that more people can use this knowledge to their own benefit.

Before you started on your business, what did you do on a full-time basis?

Since I was young, I’ve been involved with the business, so it was natural for me to kickstart my career with Yuan Zhong Siu after graduation from NUS.

What were some difficulties you faced in your life and how did you overcome them?

I started being a Feng Shui speaker at 24 years old and my audience is usually double my age. Practice makes perfect; I usually pen down and go through every single word in my speech and make sure that every sentence delivers an important key point to the subject matter. Being well-prepared helps. If anything goes wrong, at least I knew I have given my best and will not have any regrets.

Who inspires you?

My mum has been an inspirational role model to me.

What excites you most about your industry?

Being able to help others feel empowered in their life is a liberating feeling. This makes the job enjoyable and satisfying.

What is your vision / personal motto? 

Where intention goes, energy flows. I believe in living with intention.

Do you have any word of advice for other ladies who are starting their business/ starting to pursue their dream?

It’s okay to be different from your peers. It’s okay to fail, to make mistakes and, to have bad days. We are all a work in progress.

How do you think you can help ladies to feel confident and empowered?

Tarot Reading and Astrology Reading can empower individuals by helping them gain clarity of their situation and allowing them to make an informed and wise decision in life. A tarot reading with me can help them.

What have you learned recently that you hope the other ladies can take back?

It’s okay to be less than perfect. Instead of trying to make radical changes in a short amount of time, just make small improvements every day that will gradually lead to the change you want. Every single day, just focuses on getting 1% better in whatever matters you’re trying to improve.

What is one thing you are grateful for? 

I am grateful for the opportunity to continue this Feng Shui legacy that my parents have started.

What do you do in your free time as self-care? How do you unwind?

Yoga helps me find zen in the chaos of everyday life.
