Dear Readers of The Babies Cue Family, as the end of the school holidays approaches, I hope you all had a fantastic time making memories with your loved ones. This June break has given me the special opportunity to share wonderful moments with my son through a variety of family activities and entertainment.
To conclude the holidays on a high note, why not plan for another family-friendly outing? Bluey’s Big Play at Singapore Sand’s Theatre located at Marina Bay Sands, promises to be an unforgettable experience. It’s a chance for us all to enjoy live theatre and immerse ourselves in the magic of storytelling and adventure!
I had the opportunity to attend a media night with my little boy Asher along with my sister and her little girl. My niece enjoys musical shows and Bluey was one of her favourite shows! Asher recently just started to enjoy some snippets of screen time with Bluey too and he started to show some interest in it. It is a great time to bring him to the play to see Bluey brought to life!
As we took our seats in the theatre, I was hit by a cute and charming stage. It was not long after that we started to hear familiar theme songs of Bluey as the lights dimmed.
Storyline of Bluey’s Big Play
The show features a Sunday afternoon and Bluey, along with her sister Bingo, have plans to play together with their parents. However, Bluey’s Daddy, Bandit just wants to rest on his bean bag with his mobile phone. While Bluey and Bingo’s urges fail, they resort to hiding Daddy’s phone hoping that Daddy will play with them again.
At the end of the show, do not be surprised to find a bunch of balloons being tossed out for everyone to engage in the popular game seen in Bluey’s TV show – ‘Keepy Uppy”! My little boy had so much fun and he was trying hard to toss the giant balloons into the air. I was hit by one of the balloons and Asher gently patted my head. It was such a sweet moment.
Impression of the Show
Fun, retable, and highly entertaining show that shouts out infectious high energy and enthusiasm. The stage was meticulously set up with props done up professionally bringing each scene to life! Putting a fun and entertaining storyline aside, the play delivers a great and important message across.
The play reflects a common trend in our real-life situations where kids and parents are often spending time with their mobile phones. Personally, this is a pretty good show which is a good reminder to us that children do love playtime with their parents. It also shows the real situations of conflicts between siblings and ways to resolve them. A loud message of kindness and forgiveness calls out to me.
