In today’s environment, waste is a huge problem. Waste had been affecting every part of our environment! And honestly, it is a sight that is really sad to see. From our waterways, to atmosphere, our beautiful green grassy fields to forests, plants and to our people. If we want to start making an impact in the fight against waste and pollutions, one of the best things we can do is to educate the young while we begin a lifestyle change in protecting the place we live in. Learning how to refuse, reduce, reuse and recycle can help not just us, but our community, and the environment by saving money, energy, and natural resources.

REFUSE disposable plastic whenever and wherever possible.

Choose items that are not packaged in plastic. Bring our own bags, containers and utensils. Practice saying ‘no straw, please.’

REDUCE our plastic footprint.

Cut down on our consumption of goods that contain excessive plastic parts and packaging. If you know that it will leave behind plastic trash, do not buy it.

REUSE plastic always.

Reuse durable, non-toxic straws, utensils, to-go containers, bottles, bags, and other everyday items. Choose glass, paper, stainless steel, wood, ceramic and bamboo over plastic.

RECYCLE what you can’t refuse, reduce or reuse.

Pay attention to the entire life cycle of items we bring into our lives, from source to manufacturing to distribution to disposal.

Polar Water Distributor Pte Ltd will begin distributing PURE WATER Pure Drinking Water in Tetra Pak paper-based drink boxes with plant-based plastic caps. Tetra Pak, one of the world’s leading suppliers of eco-friendly packaging to the food industry, will manufacture their Tetra Prima Aseptic for PURE WATER. PURE WATER will provide consumers with this eco-friendly option filled with pure, clean drinking water.

“We’re very excited to provide consumers with PURE WATER in these eco-friendly packages,” said Mr. Chew, owner of Polar Water Distributor Pte Ltd. “Even the caps are made from sugar cane. The beauty is that these containers are 70% paperboard and easily recyclable. This is an opportunity to help improve the environment.”

PURE WATER uses Tetra Prisma Aseptic with DreamCap. It is made mainly from paper, a renewable source & is available with FSC™ (Forest Stewardship Council) certified packaging material, ensuring that the wood fibre is sourced from responsibly managed forests. The availability of bio-based caps made from a nonfood substance derivative of sugar cane further increases the renewability of our packages. PURE WATER is resealable and very easy to carry. The recycled products can then be reused again and again.

For Polar Water, this is just the beginning,” Mr. Chew said. “Singapore is our home and we want to do our part for the nation. It’s in our plan to migrate majority of our packaging to Tetra Pak and other environmentally-friendly packaging. Even our current plastic bottles are chosen to be easily recyclable. All of this is part of the Polar Water Distributor commitment to the environment and our customers.”
