Why Do People Visit Chengdu, China?

Chengdu, the capital of China’s southwest Sichuan Province, is famous for being the hometown of cute giant pandas! This beautiful city is located in the west of Sichuan Basin and in the center of Chengdu Plain. Covering a total area of 12.3 thousand square kilometres and contains a population of over 11 million.

These cute giant pandas are not only a Chinese national treasure but are also beloved by people the world over! I remembered when we first had our River Safari in Singapore, so many people took their precious time off to have a view of Kai Kai and Jia Jia!

Did you know that the Chinese national treasures are found only in Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu provinces? There are fewer than 2,000 of them, of which 70% are distributed within the territory of Sichuan Province. Therefore, this is one main reason why visitors come to visit Chengdu.
