TLC x Food Series: Jomo Bar, Holland Village

The JOMO Group has launched their first neighbourhood bar + kitchen + bottle shop ‘JOMO’ in the bustling Holland Village locale. This venue is the first of five that The JOMO Group plans to open around neighbourhoods in Singapore, with the view of offering high-quality cuisine coupled with beverages at a very accessible price point.

JOMO has over 250 wines and spirits, including 40 gins by the bottle, and 50 wines at $50 nett per bottle. JOMO’s super-dry low-carb lager beer is available together with four beers on tap at $8 nett per pint ($6 nett during Happy Hour). Take-away 2.5L beer pouches are also on offer at $28 nett, and there is no surcharge for take-away or in-house dining.

Food Review

JOMO has brought to Singapore chicken-salted fries ($8) that are hugely popular in Australia, a must-try on their menu. The fries are savoury with a hint of chicken flavor which is what I usually love from chicken flavoured twisties. Not only that, we have also got to try their signature sausage rolls ($10) and guacamole chips ($8). My favourite is definitely the sausage rolls due to how flavorful and juicy the sausage is! Paring with the crispy and flaky outer crust is definitely a match made in heaven.

We have also got to try their signature JOMO beer battered fish & chips ( and tender pork ribs. I was not a huge fan of fish & chips, however the fish & chips that were served was very crispy with a hint of beer on the outside. The portion was definitely more than enough for me. The pork ribs on the other hand is something that I will definitely order again when I go to their bar. The sauce is fragrant and it paired very well with their pork ribs! The meat on the ribs came off so easily which I really appreciate from a well cooked pork rib.

Lastly, we have also gotten to try their specially brewed JOMO Super Dry ($8 per pint) and a super pretty pink Gin and Tonic. The gin and tonic is not on the menu, however you can always request from the bar! It is a ladies favourite due to how pretty and instagrammable it looks, and it is also sweet to taste. The JOMO Super Dry is also smooth and not bitter, making it super easy to drink and enjoy with your friends!
