I am Sonia, Senior Chiropractor and Co-Founder at ChiroTime, who is taking care of people’s spine and function for all walks of life in the East side of Singapore. I became a chiropractor to help the ones in need, from neck pain to frequent headaches and even digestive issues.

Off work time, I will be out in the park, jogging, swimming, or at the gym, keeping myself fit and in shape so that I can better take care of myself as well as my patients under care. But I also love to draw, colour, and paint in my free time.

ChiroTime is a place where patients will come in to optimise their bodily function and performance and not limited to symptom relief care for babies, children, students, sports athletes, working adults, pregnant mums to older adults. Growing old together and aging gracefully.

Safe and gentle pregnancy chiropractic care allows better positioning of the baby for natural birth process as well as releasing the discomfort in the pelvis, back, and ribs as the baby gets bigger and heavier. Studies and research have found that chiropractic care reduces labour time by 25% for new mums and up to 31% for mums who have already given birth.

I always dreamt of having a chiro clinic of my own ever since when I stepped into a chiropractic career, whereby it is a comforting environment for people to come in to heal, get better, and eventually enable them to do things that they love to do in their lives.

After graduating and when I started working in Singapore, I realised that most chiropractic practices in Singapore are very fast paced, lacking in communication and interaction as the focus was mostly on adjustments. So wanted to provide better care for those who are in need, to lead a healthy life for long term, prevention rather than symptom relief alone.

Some misconceptions of chiropractic, are whether it will be dangerous, whether is it really effective, and so on. I try not to take it personally. Instead, I overcame these difficulties by providing lots of health talks related to chiropractic and healthy living. Educating the crowd of varying age groups and listening to their concerns so that I can better take care of the similar age groups under care.

My parents!

I get very excited when patients under care get better with speedy recovery than expected and progress forward. It is thrilling and feels really great to celebrate together their progress as they are able to do the thing that they love to start with changes in daily postures that hinder them for so long and able to start something new or able to continue what they love to do.

Vision for ChiroTime is it’s time for spine check regardless of all ages.

My personal motto is if you think that it is too late to do something, it is actually fast. Motto for this year is do it now.

Getting myself adjusted, getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, and keeping myself fit. I unwind by doing recreational activities like drawing, colouring, reading, watching movies, etc, or meeting up and spending time with friends and family.

Being yourself, confidence comes from within not just the outer appearance.

Supportive family and friends around me

Always plan ahead and follow up on action. There is no right or wrong answer.

There are always ups and downs so enjoy the whole process. It is alright to be upset and angry but get over it fast and move on. Sincerity can be felt unspoken, and there will always be people who will recognise and appreciate it, so focus on the good stuff.
